My Grain Free Granola Recipe

Store bought granola is often touted as a healthy breakfast, but in reality people are starting their day with oats sprayed with glyphosate, unhealthy oils and a big sugar spike! Try this homemade grain free granola recipe for an actual healthy treat. This recipe is a base and you can change the nuts and spices to suit your tastes


INGREDIENTS:

1 cup raw walnuts or pecans

1 cup  raw pumpkin seeds

1 cup raw cashews

1 cup sliced raw almonds

1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

1/4 cup hemp seeds

1/4 cup flax seeds or sesame seeds

3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/3 cup of maple syrup**

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 315 degrees F

  2. Chop walnuts, cashews, pecans. Add all the nuts and seeds to a large bowl.

  3. Toss in the olive oil, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger and salt and fold until well combined

  4. Spread evenly on a large rimmed baking sheet

  5. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a little toasty brown, stirring every 15 minutes



    *Granola will crisp up as it cools


    **Keto friendly version replaces maple syrup with 12 drops of Stevia and 3/8 teaspo

    on of Powered Stevia. Place drops into olive oil before combining.
